Hello all! My name is Salina. My 4 year old son & I live in Arlington, TX.

I was recently let go from my job new job due to needing to tend to my son during my training/probationary period. My son had a completion ceremony for him to go to kindergarten, and being his only parent I wanted to show support for my child. I left work (with permission from my trainer) for 1.5 hours, then returned back to work to finish my shift. The 2nd instance was due to my son having an accident at preschool and needing a change of clothes. The school even offered to place him in clothes they had in their lost & found but unfortunately there was nothing in his size. So I left for 15min (again with permission from my trainer) to drop off clean clothes. With that, the company decided to let me go due to their mandatory attendance policy during training.

As a single mother I had to make a choice to either take care of my son or leave the responsibility to someone else. I had to make a choice to either come support my son, who has issues with speech & motor skills, for moving forward to kindergarten or not be there for him during this milestone. I chose to put my child first. I have no regrets for doing that but now we are in a situation where I don’t know how I will prevent us from being homeless. Our rent is $2600/monthly (includes all utilities), right now I am doing uber eats deliveries and have been applying for new work diligently. Praying that we won’t be homeless again. If anyone finds it in their heart to help in ANY way until I am able to find work again, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
